Before You Consider Booking...

  1. A consultation is required before any new color clients can book an appointment. A consultation can be booked through our online booking portal or on our homepage.

  2. To prep for your consultation, please provide a 1-year history of all color services performed at home or in a salon by a licensed professional.

*This is important. Unfortunately, we are not able to see through the layers of color in your hair until you tell us honestly what has been done or a strand test, applying bleach/lightener is conducted, lifting the haircolor, showing us your hair history.

If you can't recall all the processes your hair has undergone over the past year, a mandatory strand test will need to be conducted prior to booking at a rate of $25/hr. A Strand test allows us to better estimate the time, # of visits, and cost it will take to get you to the inspiration hair you desire.

  3. Bring or text us 1-2 inspiration haircolor photos. We'll be able to formulate a strategic plan to get you to where you want to be whether through 1 visit or multiple visits depending on how drastic the change from your current color is to your desired color.

*Please note that while we strive to give you what you want in a single visit, standing and working without a break for more than 6-8 hours is detrimental to our bodies and our health. In this case, we will split your appointment into multiple visits.

Things we consider during your consultation:

  • Natural level (root/base color that has grown out of your scalp).

  • Color of your hair, now.

  • Have you ever been blonde? Was it done at home or by an educated, licensed professional?

  • Have you ever applied box haircolor? More specifically, black box haircolor?

  • If going lighter, how many levels will we need to lift your base/root natural hair?

  • If going lighter, how many levels will we need to lighten the color on your mids and ends?

  • If going darker, do I need to cover grays? Is the inspiration color darker than the current color on the mids and ends?

  • If covering gray and adding foils, can the services be combined or best done one at a time to avoid warm banding?

  • If doing fashion colors...Red/Purple/Blue etc. Do I need to perform an Oxidized Color Extract service or multiple applications prior to lightening/bleaching the hair?

  • Is the hair healthy/strong enough to undergo any lightening services? If not, a combined in-salon and at-home regimen will be recommended to strengthen your hair before we can book out your appointment.

  • What shades will I use to Pre-Tone and Finish Tone with?

  • What is the underlying pigment at the base/root natural starting level? Do I need to control or emphasize warmth?

  • What developer will I use to avoid hot roots when going lighter?

  • ALL HAIR HAS BLUE/RED/YELLOW. THE RATIO OF ALL 3 PRIMARY COLORS DETERMINES WHAT LEVEL YOU ARE. ANYWHERE FROM BLACK TO BLONDE. EVERY CLIENT WILL EXPERIENCE A WARM TONE TO THEIR HAIR DURING ANY HAIRCOLOR SERVICES WHICH IS WHY EDUCATED, LICENSED PROFESSIONALS ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE IF A BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, OR RED CONTROLLER IS NECESSARY TO ADD TO THE FORMULA AND WHICH TONER SHADES ARE NEEDED TO ENHANCE OR CONTROL WARMTH.

  • This list isn't conclusive. It's only meant to give you an idea of what is going through your stylists head whiled conjuring your haircolor potion :)

Estimated Cost and Time...

  • An "estimate" of the cost will be determined through the series of questions during the consultation and the strategy set by the stylist.

* The estimate is based on the time it will take and how much product will be needed to give you the haircolor you so desire.

  • Haircolor Correction: In the event that lightener is applied to the hair, and evidence of your prior haircolor services that weren't disclosed during the consultation are revealed that pose a burden, altering the haircolor plan set by the stylist, a re-assessment of your haircolor plan will be conducted. At this point, the "estimated" cost will become null and void and a new estimate will be proposed to continue. In the event that the haircolor plan turns into a Haircolor Correction, the hourly rate is $70-$100/hr. The rate depends on the length and density of your hair. The more hair you have, the more product is needed to deliver results.

  • To avoid a surprise haircolor correction, it's advised that you allow the stylist to conduct a strand test ($25/hr) prior to receiving an estimate of the cost. This will allow the stylist to determine if your hair will be a color correction service from the start so there are no surprises for you or the stylist.

* Please note: A color correction is conducted in stages. As each step is applied and processed, your hair will reveal what the next step is in your haircolor correction journey. Plan to re-schedule or spread your appointment out over multiple appointments and leave a deposit to hold your appointment if the haircolor correction was unplanned as this type of service can take many hours.

  • If at any time during your haircolor process your hairstylist determines that your hair is becoming compromised due to metallic dyes, minerals present from hard/well-water, over-processed from prior haircolor services conducted at another hair salon, by another hairstylist, your stylist will immediately rinse your hair of chemicals to prevent chemical burn and further damaging your hair.

  • In this event, your stylist will re-evaluate and re-formulate to see what he/she can do moving forward with your haircolor service. When this happens, you acknowledge it is not possible to deliver the inspiration photo haircolor safely and you'll receive a different shade of haircolor to enhance the level of haircolor we are presented with after rinsing the lightening/bleach chemicals.

  • You, the client, agree to pay for your haircolor services.

  • Your stylist will discuss how to strengthen your hair and get your hair ready for a future appointment so that together you can continue to progress your haircolor journey, healthfully at home and through in-salon services.

  • AGAIN, TO AVOID THIS POTENTIAL SCENARIO, A STRAND TEST IS RECOMMENDED AT $25/HR.

What To Bring To Your Appointment...

Modern haircolor techniques take anywhere from 3-7 hours to complete depending on the number of services that are required to deliver results. Vintage haircolor techniques are simple and quick and take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours.

During long appointments, it's helpful to your stylist if you'd bring some things with you to keep yourself occupied so your stylist can concentrate on each step and paint your hair with intentions.

Not that we don't love to build relationships, (heck, that's why we work for ourselves!) but too much conversation for periods exceeding 3 hours is tiring and the distraction can add time to your visit.

  • Book

  • Magazine

  • Homework

  • Paperwork

  • Phone to peruse social media

  • Food - Menus are available if you'd like to order yourself lunch or dinner.

* Complimentary snacks and beverages are available. 1 spirited beverage per visit. Must present and ID. Must be 21 years of age. If a client appears to arrive under the influence, a spirited beverage will be denied. Thanks for helping to protect our establishment :)

Deposit Requirements & Cancellation Policy...

A deposit for your haircolor appointment is required within 72 hours prior to the start time of your appointment.

*Example: If your appointment is Monday, December 20, at 12:00PM, your deposit is due by Friday, December 17, at 12:00PM.

If the deposit to hold your appointment isn't received within 72 hours of your appointment, your appointment will be assigned to the next person on our waiting list.

The deposit is $125. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your haircolor appointment and you will be responsible for the remaining fees, due.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment within 48 hours prior to your appointment start time, you will forfeit your deposit. Time is money. When a client doesn't make it to their appointment or give enough time to allow the stylist to fill the spot, it's like a deduction in our paychecks. A BIG ONE.

WORST-CASE SCENARIOS:

Haircolor and/or hair-lightening can come with risks when any prior at-home haircolor or hair-bleaching/lightening and haircolor cover-ups have been applied by you or your previous stylist.

These warnings are worst-case scenarios and meant to enlighten you to the importance of being forthcoming with all prior color or bleaching/lightening services done by you or another educated licensed professional hairstylist.

Important Things to think about...

We are currently booking 2-4 weeks in the future. Please keep this in mind.

Picture it...You have an event, look in the mirror and see 2" of regrowth, try to book and there aren't any spots available before your event, we'd be stricken with guilt and sadness having to see you find another salon to try to accommodate you in a short period of time.

Our schedules outside of work are hectic with caring for animals, elderly parents, children, grandchildren, and maintaining healthy marriages. We need to be strict with our time and keep "work" allotted within our posted hours of operation.

Events and Holiday's to consider:

  • Easter

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas

  • Pool Party

  • Vacation

  • Birthday Party

  • School event/Beginning of new year

  • College Break

  • Job Interview

  • Get a random Government holidays off? Book an appointment for that day :)

**Berevance is an exception. We would never leave you in a time of need. If our personal schedules allow for it, (not away on vacation or out of town) we'll work outside of posted hours to care for you.

To guarantee your hair is always impeccable, it's recommended that you pre-book your next appointment before leaving.
